SCRIPT Recommended as a Mandatory Requirement for All Prescribers

19th April 2019

SCRIPT has been mentioned in an important report from the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch, who have recommend that it would be beneficial to roll out SCRIPT as a mandatory requirement for all prescribers. The error investigated in the report was the ‘inadvertent administration of an oral liquid into a vein’. This specific error is discussed in our ‘Medication Errors’ module and as such, the HSIB also include an image of the related eLearning content.

The full report is available at: https://www.hsib.org.uk/investigations-cases/inadvertent-administration-oral-liquid-medicine-vein/final-report/ (pages 56 and 57).
