Antihyperglycaemics

Prescriber Ready

In this module, we will explore in detail the seven main classes of antihyperglycaemic agents used in the management of type 1 and 2 diabetes.

We will describe the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of each class, their side effect profiles, and main counselling points for people taking these medicines. Finally, we will apply the knowledge of pharmacology to develop practical approaches to the management of diabetes.

Laxatives and Anti-Diarrhoeals

Prescriber Ready

In this module, we will understand basic pharmacology to underpin the safe and effective management of laxatives and anti-diarrhoeals, including monitoring their effectiveness and safety, and providing education and counselling to the patient and/or carer.
