SCRIPT – 10 Years of eLearning to Improve Medicines Safety

14th October 2020

To celebrate ten years of SCRIPT, a virtual event was hosted by SCRIPT and Health Education England. Speakers included: Prof Elizabeth Hughes, Prof John Marriott, Prof Jamie Coleman, Neil Ralph, Martin Sinclair, and Dr Sarah Pontefract. Dr Helen Vosper spoke on ‘Patient Safety in Medical Education’ and two panel discussions were held on ‘Educational Resilience’ and ‘The Future of Healthcare Education’, chaired by Prof Phil Routledge and Prof Robin Ferner respectively.

The aim of SCRIPT eLearning has always remained to improve medicines safety and the programme has hugely evolved over the last ten years. After the success of the initial Medicine and Surgery modules, the last six years has seen more variants added to the programme, reaching a wider audience of healthcare professionals. Today, the SCRIPT portfolio consists of 132 modules across a variety of variants, and since August 2010, 66,500 registered learners have completed over half a million modules.
