New Module Launched – Pharmaceutical Management of Neonates: Use of the BABY FLAMINGo! Tool

5th February 2026

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new elearning module, Pharmaceutical Management of Neonates: Use of the BABY FLAMINGo! Tool.

Designed for pharmacists caring for neonatal patients, this module provides core knowledge to support systematic pharmaceutical reviews and the safe management of medicines-related problems in neonates. It will be particularly useful for pharmacists who are new to neonatology.

What is BABY FLAMINGo!?

The BABY FLAMINGo! acronym supports a structured approach to neonatal pharmaceutical care. It covers the following key areas: Before birth and Baby, Age, Bundles, Yellow, Fluids, Lines, Antimicrobials, Medicines optimisation, Immunisation, Nutrition, and Go! (Discharge).

Within the module each aspect is explored in depth, offering practical advice for day-to-day practice.

This module has been developed in collaboration with experts from the Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacy Group (NPPG) special interest group in neonatology, working alongside our editorial team at the University of Birmingham and our elearning partner, OCB Media

We invite you to explore the module and deepen your understanding of pharmaceutical care for our smallest patients.
